The St. Mary’s Health System, which includes St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Lewiston, announced Wednesday that it is experiencing an IT issue that may lead to longer wait times in some areas.St. Mary’s Health said the temporary system issue may affect some phones and documentation systems, as well as internet access.Care is continuing, but some services may be intermittently unavailable. People who are experiencing a medical emergency are being asked to call 911.”We recognize this may impact your experience. Our team is working around the clock to resolve the issue and restore full services as quickly as possible,” reads an alert on the St. Mary’s Health System website. “Thank you for your patience and understanding.”A post on the St. Mary’s Health System Facebook page stated that as of early Wednesday afternoon, the lab was only able to process paper orders or orders that can be shown through MyChart.Similar system issues were experienced Tuesday at St. Joseph Healthcare in Bangor and St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua, New Hampshire. St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua closed all of its outpatient labs on Tuesday as a result of the system issue.St. Mary’s Health System, St. Joseph Healthcare and St. Joseph Hospital are all part of the Covenant Health network.
